Design: Farrier's Cage

Problem:

The trend for forged iron lighting was hiding the inner story of the material, that the lighting is forged from the very fire at the centre of the bulb. We were commissioned to create a light that allowed the story for the creation of ‘the farriers cage’ to take centre stage.

Solution:

An honest treatment of the material through individually handmade lamps, where the blacksmiths hammer strikes form a unique fingerprint.
